    Just before Christmas 2006, I started working on a Mario game, which had a strategically use of power ups.  As a plot, Sonic was going to appear along the way as an AI ally.  Then I decided to make Sonic a playable character...  And in the chaos of that, the plot of re-written to what you see here!

    This project has several different variations of the same name ("Sonic VS Mario" being one).  Both Sonic and Mario are the main characters in this game, neither being higher than the other.  Additional playable characters are also planned but will be produced later in the project

    Updated Features
    Version B3.2.0
    + disabled downloading and locked-file system for now.  All previously locked files are now unlocked due to users having problems with 7zip working correctly.

    Version B3.1.0
    + Updated the download and loading system.  Users are now guided into installing 7zip.  The reason I've come to this is that I wanted security for users.  7zip proved to be the most efficient in the game's design and keeps the external files locked, unable to be edited without permission.

    Version B3.0.0
    + At this time, because B3.0 is just taking off, B2.2 still might be the better between this build and the previous.  Not all levels, extra characters and cutscenes are ready in B3.0 but should be soon!  Until then, B3.0 will be not be downloadable from Yoyogames and I will attempt to promote both versions.
    + NEW ENGINE UPDATES!
       * Updating system - you can now check for updates and download them right from the game!
       * External files - levels, characters, sounds, enemies, cutscenes, and more to come are now external to the game build.  This allows for files to download and better memory management.  This also allows for customization in the future!
       * File loading - the game can now load the external files mentioned above at the moment required OR EVEN load before being used, lessening the loading time.  So if you are going to be going into another level section, it will attempt to pre-load it.  If you don't, the data is deleted from memory and new data is loaded!
    + Mario has the wall jump, though it is very simple.
    + Multiplayer has been removed for now.  It should reappear again later.

    Version B2.2.0
    + a few bugs fixed
    + NEW LEVEL!  A watership, similar to SMB3's airships.  It may look very simple but it took quite a bit of programming.  A boss is planned for this level but is not present currently.
    * I spent about 2 weeks working on several different features, and some had to be ditched.  That is why this update seems so small for a long absence of an update.

    + Few bugs fixed (Ghost House's music now continues when you go to a different room)
    + Updated the Multiplayer Level to include a camera zoom function

    Version B2.1.0
    * I rushed this version out because I'm gonna be gone for awhile.  Got it so it is playable but some elements are missing and will be added in the next build ASAP.
    + TWO NEW LEVELS!  World 1-7 and World 1-Castle are now working.  The Castle include two neat new features as listed below.  Several story scenes are planned for the Boss fight in the Castle, but I didn't get to them yet.
    + New Feature:  Screen Limiter.  Like in SMB3 and SMW, the player is limited to the moving screen and has to stay with it or die.  The player will be nudged ahead horizontally if there is nothing in front
    + New Feature:  Moving blocks/crushers.  I'm proud of this one because I never expected to get it working, but now it does after about a day of bug fixing.  You (and enemies for that matter) can ride them up and down.  But if you're left with not enough room, death!
    + Redesigned Feature:  elevator blocks.  These were redone and THEN I got the crushers working.  Now they move in an acceleration/deceleration path (a mathematical Sine on one axis really).  ALSO, enemies can now land and walk on them too.  You can get pushed off of them if they go into a wall.  On another note, most elevators are not solid structures, meaning if you hit a ceiling, you will be pushed through it
    + Fixed a glitch with the halting music in the Fortresses/Castle and Sonic's 1-4.  Now it should play right.

    Version B2.0.3
    + missed some nasty bugs when the memory leak was fixed.  Sorry.  Moved a platform in 1-2

    + NEW hit reaction!  Now, when you're hit, you will be thrown a bit and regain control afterwards.  This makes the game more challenging
    + Customizable keyboard controls AND Gamepad support!
    + 2-Player setup and Vs-Mode!!  Just note that this mode is still under HEAVY construction and is just a bonus for now.  I hope to get it fully working along with some new levels, hazards, and more player to join in.
    + NEW CHARACTER:  LUIGI!  He's hidden in the game.  You must find a secret to unlock him.  (You may request a hint via email or messenger)  Luigi jumps higher but runs a bit slower and can't crawl (at least for now).
    + NEW CHARACTER:  TAILS!  He's hidden in the game.  You must find a secret to unlock him.  (You may request a hint via email or messenger)  Tails can swim but can't do a Spin Launch or Spin Dash.  He can also fly for a limited time with 2 other limitations; 1) He must replenish his energy to be able to fully fly again, 2) If he gets wet, he must dry off before he can fly.
    + TWO NEW LEVELS!  Along with new enemies!
    + Cutscene dialogue can now be typed out, kinda like in Zelda games.  Also did some touch ups on the cutscenes already in the game.
    + A new Options screen.
    + Changed some sprites, like the place-markers on the map.
    + Sonic can now go into a Spin Dash while running if Down is pressed.  Note that if you release Left/Right during this, you will slow down.  Best to do Down-Left/Down-Right, just a little tip

    Glitches/Need-to-be-Fixed's
    + get B3.X up to where B2.2 is with cutscenes and levels features
    + fix the sounds, add some new sound FX
    + get the Options menu working, and have a visual quality setting.  Some people will experience lag in World 1-4 because there is alot happening
